What to Expect When You Visit

Whether you’re new to church, new to the area, or just curious about who Jesus is—we’re really glad you’re here.

We’re a family of eight churches across the Draycote and Leam Valley Benefice, and on Sundays we gather in a variety of styles and settings. Here’s what you can usually expect:

  • A warm welcome. Our churches are friendly and relaxed, and someone will always be on hand to help you find your way.

  • Services that are thoughtful and rooted in Scripture. Whether formal or informal, we aim to meet with God and grow in faith.

  • No pressure. You’re welcome to simply come and observe, join in as you feel comfortable, and ask questions at your own pace.

  • Children and families are always welcome. Some services are especially designed to be all-age, and others include space for children to explore faith in their own way.

  • Refreshments and conversation. Many of our services are followed by coffee, tea, and the chance to chat.

If you’re not sure what service to try first, the short guide below might help:

Which Stream Is Right for Me?

We describe our Sunday services as “Streams”—each with a slightly different feel and focus. Here’s a quick overview:

Allsorts Stream if for you if:

You prefer relaxed, lively worship that includes all ages. You might have children, or just want to explore faith in a creative way.

Communion Stream if for you if:

You value a traditional structure with contemporary language and thoughtful teaching. You may be used to Common Worship services.

Celtic Stream if for you if:

You enjoy quiet, reflective spaces and worship shaped by ancient Christian traditions. You might appreciate stillness and simplicity.

BCP Stream if for you if:

You feel at home in formal liturgy and beautiful language. You may have grown up with the Book of Common Prayer, or want to explore it.

Still unsure? Don’t worry—you’re welcome at any service, and you might like to try a few before settling into a regular pattern. We’d love to help you find where you feel most at home.
